The Collaborative process provides an excellent opportunity to work through challenging issues in an open, honest and respectful way. Parents can do no greater service for their children than to work together at reaching genuine and lasting agreements concerning the welfare of their family. I like how the Collaborative process encourages and supports clients in their efforts to have direct and authentic conversations about their respective futures and the future well-being of their children.

Collaborative Services

In my professional life, I have engaged in many varied experiences. Before law school, I worked as a paralegal at a large downtown law firm. While a law student, I interned at Central Virginia Legal Aid Society, interviewing indigent clients and assisted in the preparation of a large class-action lawsuit, and at the United States Attorney’s Office, appearing in court as a third-year law student on behalf of the federal government. I opened my own law office as a young lawyer and served as a court-appointed criminal defense attorney in state and federal court, appearing in court most days of the week. Over 14 years ago, I joined the largest law firm in Virginia concentrating in the area of family law and have focused my practice on family and divorce law. I provide a range of services for my client, including litigation, negotiation, mediation as well as using the Collaborative process.
