Collaborative Services

I have been a trial lawyer for over 25 years, and have seen the effects of adversarial litigation of divorce and child custody issues on the important personal relationships that continue long after the hearings are over and the decrees have been entered. I strongly believe that the Collaborative Process provides a healthier and much less destructive framework within which divorcing couples can address and resolve the issues they face. Although the decisions these couples make are informed by the law, in the Collaborative Process they are not restricted by the law the way a judge is constrained in a divorce case. Collaborative Divorce provides an opportunity to these couples to tailor a resolution that much better fits their family and its evolving structure than would result from litigation. The Collaborative Process allows me to facilitate creative solutions to individual problems in a way that litigation simply does not.
